Full-game minimum and recommended specs

Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system. These are the full-game requirements; the demo has a different recommended GPU entry.

How to compare your PC

Write down your operating system, processor, GPU model and graphics-memory variant, RAM and free drive space. Compare each row separately. For example, check the 6 GB or 8 GB suffix on the minimum GPU entry as well as its model name.

The 15 GB figure is an available-space requirement, not the size of the download. A specific frame-rate expectation needs performance evidence for your hardware and settings.

What the split-screen target means

The minimum specification’s performance note targets split-screen at 1080p, 30 fps, using the Low graphics preset. That is the publisher’s stated target; we have not benchmarked it.

The recommended tier gives no resolution, graphics preset or frame-rate target. It cannot establish 60 fps or 4K performance. If couch co-op is your priority, use the minimum split-screen target as your reference and check our co-op guide for player limits.

How the demo requirements differ

The demo also requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. Its minimum note repeats the Low, 1080p, 30 fps split-screen target. Its recommended GPU entry repeats the minimum GPUs; this table preserves that published entry.

DirectX 12 is listed for both demo tiers. The current full-game requirement fields do not list a DirectX version. Use our demo guide for official download links and two-player setup.

Controllers and playing with a friend

Steam lists full controller support and recommends a gamepad for the full game and the demo. Those labels do not establish tested compatibility with every controller model.

For a streamed demo session, the developer recommends a controller for the guest to reduce shared-keyboard input conflicts. The demo guide explains input assignment.

Steam Deck, Mac, Linux and ultrawide FAQ

What is confirmed about Steam Deck?

In its September 21, 2026 reply, the developer said Deck compatibility was still being evaluated and native Linux support was not planned at that time. That reply provides no Valve verification rating or measured frame rate.

Can a Mac or Linux friend join?

The Steam records list native Windows support. Separately, the demo’s Remote Play Together instructions allow Mac and Linux guests to receive a stream from the host PC. Joining that stream does not mean running Hela locally through a native build or Proton.

Does Hela support 21:9?

Ultrawide support remains unconfirmed in the developer discussion. The configuration table does not establish 21:9 framing or black-bar behavior. For announced console and edition choices, continue to our platforms and editions guide.
